Paediatric First Aid in Pewsey
On Saturday 14th October, I was asked to go deliver the second day of a Paediatric First Aid Course for St. Francis School Nursey in Pewsey in Wiltshere. This course was on behalf of First Response Training.
The first day had already been taken by another trainer who wasn't available for the training on the second day. Upon arrival and introductions, it was clear that the trainer had done a fantastic job as he was receiving high praise from the candidates, and the knowledge and ability was fantastic. I knew I would have to step my game up a level if I was looking to impress. Fortunately for me, I feel I was able to step up my game, as the group and I laughed and learned our way through a day 2 when a lot of the group had previously stated that this was their first time doing First Aid at this level. However, come crunch time when it was time to do their test, there were some initially worried faces, but no-one came out with less than 90% score which is a fantastic effort for all involved.
I wish everyone at St. Francis School and Nursery the best for the rest of this term, and hope that they find the knowledge they have gained useful for their job roles.
