Basic Paediatric for schools

On Monday 4th September, I visited Blakeney Primary School in Gloucestershire to deliver a Basic Paediatric First Aid for Schools on behalf of First Response Training.

Myself and another trainer took 31 candidates for the course where we taught them about CPR, Recovery Position, Choking, Asthma, Hyperventilation, Bleeding, Burns, Accident Reporting dealing with Paediatric illnesses.

Although some of the teachers looked like they wished they were still on their summer holidays, they all demonstrated fantastic knowledge and practical ability to demonstrate First Aid and CPR effectively on a casualty. It was a good course with all candidates successfully passing the course and feeling ready to go for the new school term. I wish all the teachers and teaching assistants the best of luck and hope they're ready for the return of their new students.
